July 2020 has been the busiest month for MHPAIANS. The month came to be full of stress. It is the month, one month notice has been served for those 179 employees of MHPA who shall leave by 1st August. With those leaving the project, only 7 contract/deputation employees are left in MHPA. Nevertheless, the O&M team is well set up with Handing/Taking to be completed by the end of July 2020. There seem to be masses going in/out of the office. I can see many new faces entering my office, greeting with a smile, some offering Doma for the signature in the No Due Form. I was like, "When did you join MHPA, Wish you Luck in future". Dam and UGPH people constantly attend the meeting after meeting - discussing the methodology to close the contract and the way forward in handing/taking.

It was a surprise for me when I was nominated for taking over the charge of PMG and C&P (Project Monitoring Group and Contracts & Procurement). The funny part is that I prepare the handing/taking note and I take over the note that I have prepared. The last week of July 2020 was too tedious for all the employees, particularly to those who are involved in Handing/Taking. I believe, for the last 8 or 9 years of learning, it was more effective learning in those one week's time. Not only preparation in papers, mentally you are required to face the music with JMD. Presentation on one part and convincing on the other side lingers on my mind for weeks.

PMG has no big issue that got it signed on the first day. In the case of C&P, JMD knows history, and the report was changed three times. It was on the third day that our report got approved and signed. I still remember, Chief Sir (S.N Jha) saying, "I may not have signed these many papers in my entire career of MHPA". All in all, we did our part in successfully Handing/Taking the charges in a majestic manner. JMD used to remind us that the way we are doing is not done in the whole world. In a mega project of this magnitude, Handing/Taking would take 3-4 years whereas we are doing in a month(s).

I fully appreciate the way our JMD did in managing all the complexes/divisions. It wonders me how he takes all the information. The whole month he chaired all the meetings (sometimes it lats till 9:00PM). If the charismatic leader like JMD is not here, I don't think this would have happened. Thank you Dasho JMD La.
