Nidup Sir. Pic from his FB page Meeting wonderful people in the midst of our life that has impacted and change the course of our life always triggered our heart that echos the name and resounds the lessons learned under that particular Leader. I personally feel, the first leader in your career shapes the person you are to become in the future. A lazy leader leads to Lazy subordinates. A wise leader shares wisdom with his students making them wise and learned people. A leader will pull and support his Subordinates in whatever ways it takes them to learn and make them wise.  I am fortunate to have and had associated with my first Boss, Mr. Nidup Dorji, Executive Engineer, who is currently serving as Officiating Chief Engineer at KHEL. We used to have contact from time to time and update on the news of both sides. I remember, sir introducing me to the Measurement Book (MB). MBs are the legal documents that will be referred after many years (if need be). He used to make us write ✍ the MB i

CAB-Construction Association of Bhutan

Participants from MHPA The majority of the Contractors in Bhutan are comprised of those who have left monkhood (GayTay), dropouts, cow herder, (thab thob - bag bog). There are another lot of people comprising of Dashos, Bussiness tycoons, Engineers and even retired Lynpos into the Construction sector. Once the retirement age is reached, the only option found is to become a contractor. Anyone can become a contractor in Bhutan. You need no qualification nor you need the education to become one. Due to many contractors coming up in the market the works become scarce. Many opt to play do and die for the want of work, meaning they quote the lowest while bidding, which leads to the direct quality compromise. Some contractors become bankrupt due to the low rates. Some issues need to be contractually supported and need some mending with change in time. To reach the voice of contractors to the policymakers, CAB was formed in 2000. You may be Engineer today, but you will become a contractor tomo

All I can say is "Thank You".

I said “ Thank you ” as I cross the junction. With the opening of the new bridge at Telegangchu, the old bridge lies above without care and it looks haunted. It was abandoned after serving its purpose. It stuck me to a feeling that it would have served thousands of vehicles and people reaching to the other side. When the new one was inaugurated with celebrations, no one dares to talk about the old bridge. Everyone was amazed at how beautiful the bridge was built by DNC without realizing, it was possible only because of the old bridge. Now, no one gives a shit to the point of even glancing at it. Whenever I pass by it, I look at it and reme
