My Friends

Everyone has got a friend who they share all their secrets. They are more than your parents. In the early days when we were young, we always long to meet our friends so that we play together and share our chocolates together. I still remember my childhood friends showing their New Pants and Shirts, New Toys, New Gumboot, etc only to nag my parents to buy me one. At times we even used to exchange the New items with some chocolates and it used to create the worst scene at home when asked whereabouts 😄.

Once upon a time in School days...
Together we used to go for firewood collection, herding the cattle, playing, singing, dancing and eating together. Our elders used to make a Toy Cars using wooden wheels (3 Nos) and a plank. They used to appoint one assistant to carry those cars to the desired destination. It used to accommodate two persons and usually works on a steep slope. The driver/elder used to be the driver and the assistant we younger used to be at back holding tightly. Once we are down rolling our Cars, it's the duty of the assistant to carry back. All the assistants perform their duties diligently and sincerely. We are brothers from other mother but we got only one common goal that's TO ENJOY. Those bygone days are never to come to our lives again but the memories that we cherished is what remains forever imprint in our hearts. Those days, unlike today we were less fortunate with Technologies. There were no Phones, Tabs, Cameras, etc that we store our memories, the only means that time was to store in one's own nature-gifted memory card.

Once upon a time in college days...
Then it came to the second stage of my life, i,e the high school life (Sarpang Middle Secondary School). We had a group of friends mixed of all races. Winter vacation seems to be too long for us, for we are longing to be united with our friends. Varieties of edible items can be displayed once we are back from vacation. That includes Fruits, Pickle, Zaw, Tangma, Butter, Chilli, Azay, etc. During Tea break (usually Black Tea) there will be groups of students sited in a round with edible items in the middle. We used to enjoy a lot and our group usually occupy the attic of our hostel. Saturday is when we used to enjoy a lot. We used to go for a laundry near the stream and one time we were introduced with Black Mountain by one of our friends. Our school is gifted with lots of Jack Fruit trees. Some students used to pluck it and hide it nearby the bushes. It is when my group go for hunting and enjoying their hard work 😊. We also go for Orange hunting in the pretext of studying during the study time. All got one bag with some books in it. By the time we return we have a bag each filled with Oranges. We also used to go out during the night to study below the street lights, hiding from the warden. Who all want to study below the street lights when we were provided with dining hall to study?? We did it only to enjoy and bunk Study hours. Thinking all those notorious behavior, it gives me a glimpse of us back then when the blood was young and immature.

Coming to the third phase of my life with Friends, it was in Higher Secondary School (Zhemgang Higher Secondary School). I had a new set of friends there too. Our group used to play a safe game (time-saving play) during the meal time, because we used to be in a queue for a meal. One of our friends will be early in the queue so that all friends who are late will join him in front, apologizing the others behind us. This technique is followed until our councilors catch us. Whenever there is a movie show in MPH, we used to be cool enough until all are inside the hall. We had one friend who has got a spare key to enter the backstage and enjoy the free movie. The spare key also used to serve us in watching TV during odd hours when others get an opportunity only during weekends. We used to go for hunting Chili and vegetables in the local garden. One time a group of us went for vegetable hunting only to be chased by big dogs. We left every collected produce and ran for our lives even leaving our slippers. From that instance, we have refrained from hunting the vegetables.

Get together with friends...
When it comes to the fourth phase of my life, that's in my college days, College of Science and Technology. I was fortunate to have lots of helping friends. All my friends were mature enough to know what is right and wrong. I was just following the flow with them and I was fortunate that the tide was smooth. I was introduced to the Internet in the first year of my college. When it comes to the technology and exposure all my friends are far better and advanced than me. Some of them even own a Laptop and they used to teach me with the working system of it. We were also fortunate to have our IT Lab open during odd hours so that we got to explore ourselves to the WWW. I was introduced to social media like Facebook, Hi5 and druknet chat. Nowadays, the society has become so small with the social media. Social media has become so important for everybody and it has become our daily routine to visit it. Even a kid who is 10 years old has got a Facebook account where I got my FB account back in 2012. I can see lots of positive impact through Social media where it can be seen even the villagers use WeChat to connect with others. Lots of groups have been formed in WeChat where the family members can share their pictures and thoughts. Life has become easier with social media and it has become part and partial of our life.
I have many friends in my college days. And if somebody asks me who is your best friend? I instantly remember two of them. Pema Tenzin and Sonam Dorji. Out of many, these two are special to me in the sense that they were there with me through thin and thick. Pema, who is working in PHPA has been my roommate for three years. I don't have secrets by the way but if I got one, he will be one who knows it. He is a hardworking man. A man of words. An analytical man, who not only study but analysis how it can be used in real life. Cleanliness is what he used to maintain in our room. He is happily married with the Love of his life Ugyen Tshomo and they were gifted with their two beautiful sons.
With Pema Tenzin and Sonam Dorji
Sonam is my buddy, who we call him Brokpa. He is my seat partner for four years. The man of words, who loved to debate given any topic. An enthusiastic Football lover who always update it without fail. He is working in CDCL and has successfully completed the project in Nikachhu under his supervision. He is currently working in executing the Drift Tunnel for Nyera Aamchhu. He is also married to the Love of his life Jamyang Dema although he used to always say that he will not marry in his life.

The fifth phase of my life, when I join the service. I had the best teammate with me. I have a team now who not only do their work properly but help me when I am in need. All the seniors have guided me in shaping me to become a proper Engineer. My subordinates were all proactive that we have achieved an important target together. I am indebted to all my seniors and my colleagues for their support and cooperation.

I thank all my friends who have come across my life who have shaped me and created memories.

Thank you...
