Lonely Boy
Done with the Eighth standard common exam,
A year when the militants were flushed out,
No one to stand nearby him,
Done with flying colors in all subjects;
Not wasting any time further,
Though no one to advise this little boy,
No one to guide the fragile and immature mind,
Took the Notes of the seniors,
Prepared himself during the vacation,
During the time of herding cattle;
When everybody was busy playing joyfully,
Enjoying the reunions with their friends,
Alone under the shades of a tree,
In the middle of the paddy field,
There he was always busy;
Studying at one time,
Reading at the other,
Writing sth on another day;
The turning point of his life,
The tenth standard;
Everyone got to prepare well,
Physically weak in health,
Mentally less in advice,
Emotionally feeble in heart,
Noticing everyone with their parents;
Supporting them for the big day,
Encouraging them, motivating them;
There he was all alone,
Nothing to aim for,
Feeling like a puff of smoke,
Aligning with every direction of the wind,
Flowing with every direction of the flow,
Gave his best in all,
Came with the results which of course was appraising;
Congratulatory notes were received,
Appreciation was received with flying kisses,
Lots of encouragement words were received by all his friends;
There he was with his herd,
Blissfully in the paddy field,
Not bothered with the result day,
Only to be notified by his friend.
There came the year of twelfth standard,
The path to be chosen,
The life to be decided;
Lucky was him to have found the perfect friends,
Whom they got their concrete path,
Got the Aim and was striving for it;
He got their company and support,
He got to sail together,
Shared the dream together;
He got to feel the warmth,
Love and care for his poor soul,
For he was not used to that feeling,
He shared his ambition,
Cleared his doubts;
He got his own path to choose.
There he got admitted in one of the reputed colleges,
Lonely and low in his heart,
The world was different for him,
Difficult to cope and hard to live with,
Gave him another challenge,
The family problem back home;
Unable to believe the words,
Thoughts of it becoming crazy,
Realizing it’s happening for real,
Cried his heart out, really hard that night,
Shattering his dream, his plan,
To keep them happy,
Drained away within a moment;
Everything seems abnormal that time,
Nothing stops him thinking of it,
Hard for him to accept the truth,
Fortunately, he overcomes all the sorrows,
Outlived the bitter truth,
Accepted the bitter truth,
With dignity and humanity;
Today he’s still a lonely guy,
Never have missed missing his parents,
Never have missed remembering them;
They might have made for each other,
But sometimes fate has a different story,
Not meant to stay together;
Sometimes he acts strange,
Within him he always misses them, long for them;
Wishing them happy and perfect health,
Is what he always prays.
