Wang-Lung at Anim Dratshang

His Eminence Sangay Nyenpa Rinpoche PC: Google
Welcoming Spring season (2019) with a calm mind, chanting mantras, religious ceremonies and wisdom of spirituality from the learned Rinpoche, His Eminence the 10th Sangay Nyenpa Rinpoche, was a pleasing start of March-2019. The people of Trongsa and nearby villages were blessed to have His Holiness at Kingarabten Nunnery famously known as Kingarabten Anim Dratshang, whereby His Holiness will be presiding over the Kadgue Nag-Dzay Choen-poi Wang-Lung for the period of 24 days (01-24.03.2019 as per the updated schedule).

The start of the Wang-Lung was greeted with a little shower of rain, with the white mountain at the west painted with a brisk of snow, rays of the sun from the horizon that brightens the valley of Kingarabten, a fresh day with the glory of smiles worn by every devotee, a nimbus that bless everyone present in the Wang-Khang. People from far-flung villages came for one purpose in their mind and came with a pure heart to receive the blessings.

I can see the people buzzing around when we reach there at 7:00 AM. A nicely pitched Tents (2Nos.) were arranged with the Black Carpet laid all-round. People were speculative, how come a Carpet? I can see all with one Carpet each in their hand and all wearing a smile when they see the Carpets already laid. Some were sitting and then changing the seat, occupying the best seats (reason best known to them).

The Wang starts with a prayer followed by Zhug-Dray-Phuen-Sum-Tshogpa and Mar-Chang. I made myself comfortable and occupied the seat in a smaller tent with a group of Old people from Eusa. They welcomed me and greeted me with smiles. We became known to each other within a second.
An advanced Technology is being utilized in a way that Rinpoche is being LIVE telecasted in a screen attached in the front. A total of 5 screens are being attached for the devotees in Tent-A and one for Tent-B. For some, this may be their first time (including myself) experiencing the Wang-Lung through Smart TV. The arrangement has been made so that everyone has a clear picture of His Holiness while performing Wang-Lung.

Wang, which literally means empowerment is believed that it connects with the teachers (Rinpoche/Lamas) well, in which the masters show the path clearly and students follow the way obediently. A Lung is an Oral Transmission where a religious text is read by a learned master. It is said that we need to listen much of the Lung in a way that it shows us the right path when we die.

Three meals are being served. Tea (3 times a day) are being served to all the devotees. De-Sung group helps in keeping the flow smoothly with a group of Students from Taktsi CS serving the meals/tea. Traffic police of Trongsa help in keeping the vehicles in order. The recently constructed Toilets are all neat and Clean with a continuous flow of Water and Toilet Papers attached in each. It was learned that, at the end of the day, a group of Anim clean the Toilet on a daily basis (how cruel are we not to keep the clean Toilets Clean, How mean are we to make Anim Clean it 😞😞😞). Right after the meals, students go around to collect wastes (if any) with plastic bags.

I made up my mind that I will not miss a day for this Wang-Lung. I find it that this is a rare opportunity happening in my doorstep and I feel I should grab this opportunity (in all means possible). I offer my deepest prayer for the world peace, my gratitude to His Holiness and my heartfelt thanks to the Jin-Das/coordinator.

May the Merits of this Wang-Lung benefit all the sentient beings and liberate from their suffering caused by the affiliations of Desire, Ignorance, and Hatred.
