Welcome AUGUST

Image
Come August, we expect a decline in a downpour. Where the sun will shine and brighten the horizon of the Dam Colony.  Come August, when nature will take its stand to brighten the mood of the people with enough brightness and coolness. Come August, when the students will be returning to their Schools after a month long Summer Vacation. Come August, where the people expect the numerous road blockage around the country due to incessant rain will be cleared and they will travel without fear.   On a local note, August month will see some changes; where the charge of Director (Techincal) will be taken over by Joint Managing Director, which wittingly means that JMD will head all the complexes.  Come August, HRT Complex, UGPH Complex, QC/QA Division and IMD Division will be club into one Complex namely Civil Complex . That is a good move so that everything will be compressed and made to close the contract soon if there is one head to look upon. Because there is always a thumb rul

Statutory Warnings

Image
PC: Goggle Have you ever wondered why there is a statutory warning in every harmful item that you consume? The statutory warnings like 'Chewing of Pan Masala is injurious to health', 'Chewing of Supari is injurious to health', 'Cigarette Smoking is injurious to health', 'Smoking Kills',,,.... etc. It has made mandatory to print on the pack so that the consumers are warned accordingly.  Lately, I have been very conscious to read the labels particularly the ingredients because my daughter is allergic in Diary content and I am suffering from Pre-High Blood Pressure.  Now, who gives a damn? Nobody. Most of all don't even dare to read it anyways. It is for the fact that it is harmful and got the side effects in consuming. But then the opposite part of the fact is that these items are sold widely and consumed by all. More than 1 billion people around the world consume tobacco. The statistic shows that tobacco-related death in the world comes

Every Second Counts & Every Step Counts

Image
PC: Google I am sure all have heard the quote  " A journey of a thousand mile begins with a single step". If one puts into deep thinking and engage in a meaningful dialogue, I bet it will come out to a great consensus. Every person will have different views on it and that's great to have different views heard in a different angle to extract concrete results.  Occasionally we avoid the present moment and do the things in order to reach to the future and our goals. We seldom have faulty thoughts in our mind that always linger and remind us that we are not good enough to be the person we would like to be. But one thing is for that we only have this moment, this one moment and we should take one step at a time to make things work our way. The one-step is all that matters for reaching our goals and attaining the success that lies ahead. Although Life is not the bed of roses. Distortion and obstacles will be on our pathway. It is how you stand up and take up the chall

7 years in MHPA

Image
Adit-II Portal Development (October-2012) When I look back, the year 2012, 13th July 2012 to be precise; where a freshly graduate from CST, being at Trongsa for the first time, wandering and looking for a place to stay, I joined MHPA after signing a Memorandum with MHPA for a contract term of 3 years at Trongsa Sherabling where the main office was based. For the first time in my life, I've experienced the taste of starting the journey. Until then, I was fed by the parents and need not worry about the place to stay. I got someone that I can lean to and I have no worry for the timely meals.  My Place I remember the first night alone in Tashidingkha (my first place), the sleepless night with lots of thinking and the feeling of homesickness was killing me then. The place used to be a Traditional house where the window used to be opaque. If I am to open the window, the whole component should be detached which I used to do when the sun shines. I have to cook myself and

Morning Walk

Panorama View of Dam Colony  Caring for your health, Is actually daring of your wealth; Taking time for a walk, Is what all gets to talk. Rosses gathered with morning dew, Cool breeze takes in when the wind blew; Birds of all kinds chirping, Where dogs are busy barking. Rays of the sun from the mountain, Glittering down to the valley to sustain; Deep down to Dam colony, Brightening the day knowingly. Walking around the garden, Stretching with all my organ; Resting in the canopy, Reflecting self with vanity. Gathering the thoughts of yesterday, Something to be fulfilled all some day; All I have got is today, The moment to be cherished without nay. Butterflies floating up in the sky, Birds with a tweet act like a spy, Waiting for that opportunity, And I can observe the food chain for continuity. Round and Round, Onto the ground; Speeding the pace, Sweating from my face. Motivation speech played in my earphone, Listenin

Saga Dawa

Image
PC: Google A very auspicious month-long Saga Dawa has come to an end. The month-long was observed as an auspicious month by the Buddhist community who follows Buddhism. The whole month is dedicated to Merit Making month; for which it is known to the whole that the single action of good and virtuous deeds multiplies its merits to a significant deed. It falls on the fourth month of the Buddhist calendar.  In Bhutan, it is observed by banning the import of all the non-veg items which basically means,  consuming meat for a month is discouraged. But then people are people, differing notions and many have more different views upon the ban. Though Buddhists, the mindset has become in such a way that the teaching of Buddha was 'Once Upon a Time' and it should be followed when one is too old. That notion and belief are totally wrong; we don't know when we will leave this planet and the uncertainty of our life shouldn't be taken into granted when it comes to accumulati

What is your Ambition?

Image
PC: Google If you are born in the year of 80s & 90s, I am sure you all will agree that the most frequently asked question is "What is your Ambition?", be it teachers, parents, family, friends, etc,,,  And the answers would be similar in all case, "To become Doctor/Engineer". Even the parents of those days stress on their siblings to become Doctor/Engineer, needless to say, if they have any idea why that's so. Doctors and Engineers are the dreams of every student and only the lucky chap got to practice it after twelve standards. These professions are the most opted one when asked about their ambition. The dignity of becoming doctors and engineers has been saturated when the 4th pay revision turned the table by making Doctors and Teachers the highest paid civil servants. That will make Doctor and Teacher the most preferred jobs in the market. It's sad on the part of the engineering department, after a rigorous selection process and meticulous four
