7 years in MHPA

Adit-II Portal Development (October-2012)
When I look back, the year 2012, 13th July 2012 to be precise; where a freshly graduate from CST, being at Trongsa for the first time, wandering and looking for a place to stay, I joined MHPA after signing a Memorandum with MHPA for a contract term of 3 years at Trongsa Sherabling where the main office was based. For the first time in my life, I've experienced the taste of starting the journey. Until then, I was fed by the parents and need not worry about the place to stay. I got someone that I can lean to and I have no worry for the timely meals.

My Place
I remember the first night alone in Tashidingkha (my first place), the sleepless night with lots of thinking and the feeling of homesickness was killing me then. The place used to be a Traditional house where the window used to be opaque. If I am to open the window, the whole component should be detached which I used to do when the sun shines.

I have to cook myself and for the first time, I am breaking an egg which of course was not successfully done several times. Koka Noodle has helped me and saved my days then because I used to cook rice and have it done with Koka. Omlete sometimes substitutes Koka. Gradually I learned the cooking skills by Trail and Error.

Having placed in HRT for the last 7 years and now the project is on the verge of completion I want to state some of the contributions that may be well accounted for the growth of my career:
  • Successful completion of Construction of Adit-II, a length of 654.7m on 27th July 2013 within a time frame.
  • Monitored and supervised in fulfilling contract milestone No. 3 (i,e) Completion of Excavation of HRT between Adit-I and Adit-II (Face-II & III), a total length of 2599.5 m on 19th October 2014, which is 36 days ahead of the schedule.
  • Monitored and supervised in fulfilling contract milestone No. 5 (i,e) Completion of Excavation of HRT between Adit-II and Adit-III (Face-IV & V), a total length of 4638 m on 20th March 2017 as per the schedule.
  • Successfully executed and supervised the Overt lining of 2346 m and Invert Lining of 2319 m of Face-IV within the stipulated schedule.
  • Monitored and supervised in a successful execution of 255 m of RCC lining in a weak zone of Face-IV (RD 1145 to 1400 m).
  • Successfully completed 2319 m of Contact Grouting and 279 m of Consolidation Grouting within the time frame.
  • Successfully completed Adit-II plugging works as per the Construction Drawings and Specifications.
  • Adhered and attained the rectification works as per the recommendations submitted by the Inspection teams.
  • Successfully managed to release the RA-Bills (RA-1 to RA-79) as per the joint records and Technical Specifications.
Above all, I want to thank all the seniors and my colleagues for the guidance and cooperation rendered for shaping me. I am now matured enough to shoulder the responsibility.

Being in MHPA for the last 7 years, I got an opportunity to attend some of the training and seminars within Bhutan and outside (India). I deeply thank the management for providing me with those skills and I am indebted to the opportunity.
I feel it's pertinent to mention some of those training and do cherish the moments for my own record and for the ease of compiling my CV:

  • Training on First Aid at Trongsa Khamey by MoLHR from 2-4th March 2015.
  • Training on Advance in Drilling & Blasting and Support system in Tunneling & Cavern projects at Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Hyderabad from 21-24th March 2016.
