What is your Ambition?

PC: Google
If you are born in the year of 80s & 90s, I am sure you all will agree that the most frequently asked question is "What is your Ambition?", be it teachers, parents, family, friends, etc,,,
And the answers would be similar in all case, "To become Doctor/Engineer". Even the parents of those days stress on their siblings to become Doctor/Engineer, needless to say, if they have any idea why that's so. Doctors and Engineers are the dreams of every student and only the lucky chap got to practice it after twelve standards. These professions are the most opted one when asked about their ambition. The dignity of becoming doctors and engineers has been saturated when the 4th pay revision turned the table by making Doctors and Teachers the highest paid civil servants. That will make Doctor and Teacher the most preferred jobs in the market. It's sad on the part of the engineering department, after a rigorous selection process and meticulous four years course, they are left out in terms of perks.

After class-12, the option of in-country scholarships is displayed based on the markings qualified by the individual. The first choice they make is Engineering-Doctor-Sherabtse-Teaching.
With the change in pay fixation, I hope and pray that the mentality of the public change, wish for the bright students go for the teaching profession. Until the bright students opt for the teaching job, the quality of education won't par the expectation of the government. The very reason that the government states is that, they are provided with the best salary so that the seasoned Teachers and Doctors are retained and also to encourage the bright students to take up the Teaching job.
