The much-talked subject in the country and the much-awaited celebration, "Inauguration of 720 MW MHEP" come to an end on 17.08.2019. The excitement of the celebration amongst the people of Bhutan and the staff of MHPA in particular, come to an end with the much of satisfaction with the inauguration being graced by Hon'ble Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bhutan Dr. Lotey Tshering. The unfurling of the Inaugural Stone was done by the two Hon'ble Prime Ministers in Simtokho Dzong. The dignitaries from within and from India witnessed the event with the whole country witnessing the Live coverage from BBS and it came to more of the surprise when the MHEP was dedicated to the People of Kingdom of Bhutan.

The celebration was done here at the site with the place of celebration prepared at Dam Top and in front of MAT at Khamey. The Dzongkhag Officials from Trongsa and nearby Dzongkhag Officials of Zhemgang and Bumthang were invited including the Teachers of Trongsa Dzongkhag, Bussiness community of Trongsa and the people of the Drakten and Langthel Gewog.
I participated in the celebration at Khamey where the Tents were pitched in front of MAT. The Trongsa Dzongdag graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The celebration was started with Lhabsang Thruesel by Trongsa Rabdey. The Chief Guest is received with the procession of Chipdrel from the gate followed by the Marchang Ceremony. Welcome speech by CFO was delivered and then the address by Chief Guest was made. The Guests proceeded to Service bay for Tashi Rabney and then Zhuday Phuensumshogpa was commenced in the conference hall.

The Lunch for the guests and the public was hosted with different menus. Much of rushing, pushing & pulling was done for the food because the laborers form JAL was clubbed with the staff of MHPA. Fortunately, I got to hold the camera of my friend in UGPH that has helped me to get me in front. I raised the camera in my hand and the way was paved for me to get in front when I heard someone saying "get this sir in front". I was wondering if they saw me as a Reporter or some guest from outside. I was smiling at myself 😊😋😌.

The next program was inside UGPH. I made myself inside UGPH and explored the components with the help of Nim sir. He says, today is the last day for exploring it because from tomorrow there will be restrictions. The Live from BBS was witnessed inside the control room. All were excited for the event when it came to a time 5:00 PM so that the ceremonial inauguration will be done at Simtokha Dzong. All the guests and the dignitaries remained seated and maintained silence to witness the event on the screen. Finally at 5:15 PM, the unfurling of the MHEP was done by two Prime Ministers and a loud of applause was made inside the control room. I can see the congratulatory statement amongst the staff inside the control room hugging and shaking each other.

All the guests returned to the ceremonial ground and a packet of sweets were distributed followed by Vote of Thanks by Chief Adm. Tashi Labey by the guests and the participants marks the end of the celebration. The drinks were served to all the participants.

| Watching LIVE inside the Control Room |
I had a mixed emotion while returning from the ceremonial ground. I am happy and accomplished to be part of this historic event that will eventually benefit the people of Bhutan on a larger scale. On the other hand, the feeling of emptiness gathers in me since the people who have worked so hard will be departing sooner or later and the talk of MHPA will fade away soon. The feeling of the missing will be emerging once all are gone.
