Happy Thrue-Bab

With participants
Blessed Rainy Day, a day we Bhutanese believe to be the end of the monsoon season. It is always a great feeling to celebrate the day with our family and relatives around. The significant day and a special day for everyone to get ourselves available to be mobile so that one can get together with our near and dear ones.
Game Time
The day is auspicious and it is believed that the blessed water from the heavenly body will be showered in the form of rain with a sole reason to bless the sentient beings and wash away their sins/demerits and accumulate the merits. It is a great opportunity for all to have flushed out demerits and make our merits count. The day is declared off for all the government offices and schools for the very reason to make it special and memorable. All in all that matters is the devotion within while making our prayers. This is the day when all the Bhutanese will take a bath with a notion that the water is blessed and it is believed that the blessed water will shower for a week. Ironically today's' generation, the day is celebrated with all the non-veg item thereby polluting the day and making an auspicious day flooded with flesh. I don't know how many poor animals have sacrificed their lives to make this day a special one. I guarantee for sure that none have abstained from consuming meat. For the magnitude of flesh consumption, one can find out if one visits the meat stalls pre-day. The stalls were full of people rushing for their share. Sometimes it is reported that the stalls are out of stock.

Delicious cuisines on display
"I pray for the poor souls who gave their lives and sincerely wish God Almighty for proper guidance towards the door to heaven".

Since it's a big day for all, Why don't we make it a grand celebration? Why don't we make it a memorable day within our friends?
I know for sure that we will depart one day or the other and that day is not far away. It may be because of the karmic connection that we have been known to each other and have got to work together. It surely will depend upon our fate and we never know whether we will meet again or not. But one this is for sure that we will not have this same bunch of friends together once we depart.
Ang-Tak-Shari Time

Accordingly, a get together with the friends residing at Dam Colony is planned. The turnout was overwhelmingly good with 25 heads of adults and 13 Nos. minors. It was decided that the venue will be at GayTsha, on the way to Bumthang.
It was around 8:30 AM when it was raining heavily at Dam Colony. I was worried about the weather condition and wished that it improves. By 9:30 AM we have started our journey towards Gaytsha. I must say that our prayers have been heard and we were granted with a perfect weather at our spot.

Dance Time
The ladies then prepared Chang-Pa (Cucumber Azay and Chat Pati) while the gents arranged the carpets. The day started with serving tea. Then light drinks were served with Chang-Pa. Subsequently, we played a game dividing the group in two. The game is called Dumb-Shit (I really don't know if it's called by that name) where we guess the answers by observing the acts. It has really engaged all the members and I can feel that it made the day extra special. It was then followed by a lunch where many cuisines were displayed and put it in line. We enjoyed the lunch to the fullest. After that, it was followed by drinks. Ang-Tasheri (starting with a song with the letter that ends by the other group) between ladies and gents were done till 5:00 PM followed by a traditional Boedra dance. The day ended with Tashi Labey where it has a lyrics "We all pray that we shall meet next year for the same purpose".
Final Wrap up
We returned back to our colony at 6:00 PM and safely reached to our station by 8:00 PM.
I thank God for the opportunity and the blessings that we had for our smooth travel despite the bad weather.
I thank all the members who participated in this gathering and I am sure all have enjoyed the day. I shall carry this moment and cherish it forever. I will remember it as one of the interesting days in my life and my smile shall glow when I think of Thruebab-2019 and will definitely say "That was an awesome day".
