Hon'ble PM meets MHPA employee
Readying for the visit |
He touched on the quality that we Bhutanese take it for granted. Giving an example of his friend who is a doctor by profession that he took EOL for two years to construct a building. After having taken the responsibility of a Thik-Ka-Dar he could save 150,000/- per month without compromising the quality. Hon'ble PM suggests what if all the engineers work as a Thik-Ka-Dar resulting in the Quality of work, then the country as a whole will rise to a greater height.
Hon'ble Lyoenchen highlighted the status of the Hydropower in Bhutan and the way the Government takes it in starting up of new Hydropower. The economic reforms by diversifying from the development of the Hydropower sector to other areas is explained. The Kholongchhu project is on the verge of starting but the Government has no say when it comes to the exact date. When it comes to Sunkosh Project, it's on the discussion between the two governments. He indirectly expressed that until PHPA-I & II complete, it won't be started. Likewise, the JV projects in the pipeline won't be started until the Kholongchhu project completes.
Question and Answer session was done giving an opportunity to the floor. A total of 6 people took an opportunity to clear the doubts and put up a suggestion ranging from the Criteria set for those who retained for another six months to Electric car charging point to Bhutanese Contractor participating in E&M and Transmission Line to Orange orchard damaged in Project Area to Tax reforms.
Lyoenchen specifically answered all the suggestions/queries and made it clear that he will not tolerate if the selection was done based on nepotism and favoritism to which JMD clarified that it was completely done based on the balance of the work.
In a closing remark, His Excellency the Prime Minister assured that MHPAians are given preference in any work. He assured that he will issue an order from his office notifying all the recruiting agencies that MHPA staff are given the preference. He adviced all to get the copy and apply along with it.
The session completes with a photo session with Lyoenchen.
