Last Day-Tala (24.02.2022)
With my Team |
The team comprises mostly Security Personnel,
Fireman, ESPs, and of course, supported by the technical teams from PHPA. It was
all the Bhutanese workforce that has completed the rectification work
successfully that will leave the legacy to all those who have a little thought
that Bhutanese are incapable. Given a chance, Bhutanese can prove them wrong.
The mindset and the dedication of all are extraordinarily mind-blowing.
All feel the baggage that Bhutan is losing so much with the power plant shut
down and it is the responsibility of all individuals to get the work done at
the earliest and get the revenue churned.
All were cooperative and the moment I was blown away was when we were supposed to complete the concreting works. ‘The team has worked so hard to complete the concreting work. However, due to the dewatering disturbances, it couldn’t happen. That made us rethink of completing the work the next day. When I announced the group that we will continue the work the next day since we have worked more than 12 hours. it was at that time, all agreed to complete the work before we leave. That night, the team has successfully completed the concreting works after working for more than 20 hours. We had our three meals inside the Tunnel and I felt the attachment that they had with the Power Plant. I saw all in their eyes and I can say they are a real hero’.
I met many amazing people including my old classmates and family members. I have an opportunity to have known to many DGPC staff. I don’t know if I have given justice for having me there. Personally, I have learned many new things and experienced new opportunities. I would like to thank DGPC management for giving me an opportunity and would like to thank my team for all the love and respect.
Some of the kind words that they have sent me as I leave THP are reproduced below:
“Chenga! Great to know that you are a wonderful person” – HoP, THP
“Dear Chenga, Very nice indeed to know that. It has been a great pleasure to have got the chance to work in close association with you. Please keep up the good work and learning spirit in you high. With the ability and interest to participate and take up challenging time-bound works, I am sure Bhutanese shall soon overcome main works. Hats off to you and all others for coming forward and completing this critical job ahead of the anticipated timeline. Best wishes to you and take care” – Project Manager
“I would like to take pride in thanking you for keeping the group members attached with each other and letting them feel home despite being away and having tiring time regularly. It is my pleasure to be attached under your group though I could spend only some time doing duty together and during that time, I felt there is so much to take away from you in terms of leading the group. At the end of the day, it’s always the result that mattes and I feel, Group-3 have contributed so much in their own way” – Chimmi (AE/THP).
“I admire your leadership and decision-making skills. I look forward continuing to learn from you and appreciate all your encouragement and support. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for all that you do. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to work with you” – Jigme Dorji (HRDC)
“Thank you, sir. Hope to meet you soon. Here we miss you for your overall leadership and management. Love to work under you which I have never experienced before. I found you are the best of all. Therefore I will never forget your kindness and understanding”- Tashi Phuntsho (Fireman/CHP).
