Last Day-Tala (24.02.2022)

With my Team
The days were tough with a tight schedule. On the way, it became smooth meeting with new friends, seniors, and a new environment. With the job stands completed, it is time to say goodbye. It had that great moment shared together with all the teams. The respect that they have shown and the regard that they have given me over my stay, kept me going till the end. They were my family, my friends, my coworkers. We shared our happiness together, shed our sweat together. We ate together and spent the whole time together. We were connected and dedicated ourselves to achieve the common goal. And at the last hour, I am happy to say, we have done what we were mandated to do so. It was doable all due to the team spirit. I have high regard to all the team members for their sincerity and commendable working spirit. It was a great opportunity to have associated with them and I will yearn for the same group of people if there are any such mishaps in the future (fingers crossed, no such rectification works arises).

The team comprises mostly Security Personnel, Fireman, ESPs, and of course, supported by the technical teams from PHPA. It was all the Bhutanese workforce that has completed the rectification work successfully that will leave the legacy to all those who have a little thought that Bhutanese are incapable. Given a chance, Bhutanese can prove them wrong. The mindset and the dedication of all are extraordinarily mind-blowing. All feel the baggage that Bhutan is losing so much with the power plant shut down and it is the responsibility of all individuals to get the work done at the earliest and get the revenue churned.

All were cooperative and the moment I was blown away was when we were supposed to complete the concreting works. ‘The team has worked so hard to complete the concreting work. However, due to the dewatering disturbances, it couldn’t happen. That made us rethink of completing the work the next day. When I announced the group that we will continue the work the next day since we have worked more than 12 hours. it was at that time, all agreed to complete the work before we leave. That night, the team has successfully completed the concreting works after working for more than 20 hours. We had our three meals inside the Tunnel and I felt the attachment that they had with the Power Plant. I saw all in their eyes and I can say they are a real hero’.

I met many amazing people including my old classmates and family members. I have an opportunity to have known to many DGPC staff. I don’t know if I have given justice for having me there. Personally, I have learned many new things and experienced new opportunities. I would like to thank DGPC management for giving me an opportunity and would like to thank my team for all the love and respect.

COVID-19 is a Blessing

PC; Google Ever since WHO declared COVID-19 as a pandemic, many countries have limited the entry and exit, many have closed the borders and at an individual level, everyone takes the initiative to keep ourselves clean.   Every nation advises its citizens to stay at home and some companies have started to implement a strategy “Work from Home”.   Social distancing for a meter is recommended by WHO to prevent the spread of the virus.  Many deaths are reported. It was learned that the corpse are buried without proper funeral rites and the family members are not allowed to meet the deceased. Once the virus is infected, the victims are isolated in a separate room where none are allowed to visit. It is so heartening to see the rate of spreading is so high. Scientists are unable to understand the behavior of the virus to discover the antidote. On the other hand, the earth is healing with the reduction of pollution. With Nidup sir and Rohit (AE) I had a Team....... When I started my career, As an Assistant Engineer and  It was back in July-2012. I was new to the environment and place, It was my first time in Trongsa, Everything seems green and pure but Lots many have joined to roar.
