Satyendra Chaubey: Farewell

With Chaubey at my place
Mr. Chaubey joined here with M/s Gammon India Limited which is now changed to M/s Gammon Engineers & Pvt. Ltd on 1st July 2014. He was then placed in Adit-II as a site in-charge handling the upstream Face (III) and downstream Face (IV).
I found him very keen in his work, a soft-spoken man with a good understanding of his work. A respected man from his subordinates. A simple human being who is not interested in poking the nose everywhere. A dedicated man with a team spirit and always completes the task within time. A careful listener and acts upon the instruction of the client.
With Chaubey during the site visit
His dynamic leadership and his team have successfully completed the excavation of Adit-I and II (Face-II & Face-III) before the schedule. Adit-II was successful under his in-chargeship but it was found that Adit-III need to stand up so that all go par-to-par. So in between, he was internally transferred to Adit-III. There he became more popular after having fulfilled all the monthly targets and moreover, under his leadership, Face-V & Face-VI got the highest incentives (provided if the progress exceeds the targets). The daylighting of Adit-II & Adit-III and Adit-III & Adit-IV has been done successfully.
Concrete lining of all Faces was smoothly going on but Adit-II was lacking behind. He was then transferred back to Adit-II where the Lining work and Grouting work has been completed successfully. He was also given a dual charge to look after Adit-II & Adit-III when the Adit in-charge of Adit-III resigned. He has plugged the Adit-II and simultaneously installed the Adit-III Gate. The work was going very smoothly until recently, where he was marked as an UNSATISFACTORY and was denied the yearly increment.
With lots of politics involved in the company, the work pressure on one side and peer pressure from the other, he decided to put up his resignation giving one months notice. The resignation was accepted by the management but the dues are uncleared. The three months salary has been withheld.
I met him over a simple dinner at my place. He shared that he got respect here that he never got to experience in his earlier work site and he will never forget the beautiful experience experienced here in his life. He cited shared that a get-together tea party at Adit-III site office organized by the client was emotional and want to convey his heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Adi-III.
When asked, How do you feel working with Bhutanese? He shared that it has been joyful and friendly working with Bhutanese. He also added that Bhutanese people are kind and generous. He felt lucky to have worked with the Bhutanese.
Do you like to return if given an opportunity to work in Bhutan? He promptly said He will definitely like to come and work here. "There is no local problem here unlike in India, the working environment is very good and I would be happy to work in Bhutan".
Finally, I wished him a very Best of Luck in his new company, AFCONS, where he will be placed in Jammu as a Sr. Manager. I also placed a trust upon him that we will catch up in Messenger and will stay in contact.

With a Handshake, I bid him Farewell. He left Bhutan on 9th February 2019.
