Filling of Water Conductor System

Image
Mangdechhu Hydroelectric project is envisaged as a run of river scheme with a head of 733 m and will have an installed capacity of 720 MW. The water diverted from the Mangdechhu will be carried by the means of HRT of 13.5 KM long to UGPH near Yurmu village.  Reservoir Filling  The nation has an eye on MHPA commissioning and the people of Bhutan, especially Civil Servants and the media are closely following the updates of MHPA status. The tariff has been negotiated between the two governments at Nu. 4.12 per unit which will be increased by 10 % every five years. Many developmental activities have planned and many are on the pipeline keeping the benchmark of MHPA commissioning. Many deadlines have been missed with some genuine reasons and today the deadline stands on 10th May 2019, which I pray it is materialized.  Adit-II Plug Filling of the Reservoir at Dam site has started after successfully plugging the Diversion tunnel. The actual filling started on 2nd April

My Stand against the EOT due to PRH

Pressure Relief Holes (PRH) of 76mm dia has been drilled and the PVC pipes been installed at my site where and when required. PRH is provided in the high-stress zone logically to release the inbuilt ground pressure when the tunnel is bored below the high cover. It also serves the purpose of Drainage holes when there is a presence of  Groundwater. Upon the suggestion by the Project Geologist, we have drilled a PRH of various length ranging from 6 m to 12 m 76 mm dia. in several locations of High-Stress Zone of Face-IV. There is a BoQ item and the provision of PRH has been clearly mentioned in the contract documents which will be discussed in the later stage.  Contractor's stand:  Drilling of PRH is beyond the scope of work and there is nowhere mentioned in the Tender Drawing that PRH should be drilled. PRH has done as per the instruction of Geologist. Drilling of 76 mm dia has consumed much time. My Justification: As per the Tender document Vol-I of V (pg 438/499)

The MHPA service tules shall continue till such time. It was a piece of good news for all the freshers who joined MHPA (1st service in MHPA) because

Update from my Site

No Trespassing, please ☺ Sitting on the same Old Chair, using the same old table, hearing the same old sound (tap water in the toilet), BUT then there is a different feeling in my heart that says so; with no one at sight, no sound of Dumpers/Machineries, no sight of laborers rushing for the food, no shouting of the foreman instructing for the work. Not even a dog is found as on today. Everyone has left after giving their best Site Office to complete the work. Many footprints have left behind to be cherished by the people of Bhutan. Wads of tears have been shed and a hatful of sweats being dropped while in the construction period. Many people with different profession have joined their hearts and together with a single target, they have constructed what we see today. I applaud with all my heart to those who have been the part of the team and I sincerely hope that their hard work will benefit the country as a whole. View of Khaling Dawzor Khaling, under Trashigang Dzongkhag is my native place where I was born and grown up. After 20 years of gap, I am visiting my village. It was in 1999, after completing my fourth standard, I moved with my parents at Umling under Sarpang Dzongkhag. Ever since then, I have never been to Khaling, that makes two decades. It was a refreshing experience for me. Many thoughts ran over my veins remembering the old me, quiet and shy young boy, a boy who doesn't know what future is, a boy who never crossed beyond Khaling and a boy who yearns for the love of his parents.  Today, here I am, standing with my own toe, helping my parents with the little way and I got a tap in my brain like, "WIll I be the Same ME if I am to stay here for the last 20 yrs?". God knows. The painting done by old me Roads have been constructed in the village. Many new houses have been built. Many more renovation has taken place. I am like, What? Where is the house we s
