EPL Dinner

With English Premier League season 2018-2019 coming to an end and Manchester City FC lifting the 2019 title, we had a group of 36 members participating in the EPL predictions. The game rule is simple; you got to send the weekly predictions to Admin and he will compile all the predictions in one and will forward to all before the game starts. The late submission was straightforwardly awarded zero scores. Then there come weekly winners and runners up totaling the scores of the given predictions. The weekly scores were taken as the summation point for the overall season winner. A total of 38 weeks were played and the fee deposited per week was Nu. 100/- which come to Nu. 3800/- for the whole season. The season lasts for a year.

Top-3 with the highest points were awarded a cash prize of Nu. 25,000/-, 15,000/- & 10,000 respectively. The consolation prize for those on top 4 to top 10 has cash of Nu. 2000/- each. The luckiest guys came out to be Mr. Karma Phurba (Dam), Dr Lhendup Khorlo Gyeipo and Mr. Thinley (HRT). Congratulations to all and wish you all the same luck in next season.
Unlike last season, where I didn’t win any weekly prizes; this season I was fortunate to have won a twice-weekly prize and was one of the top-10 members to receive Nu. 2000/- cash prize.

The winners of a cash prize, who resides in Dam Colony came together for organizing a simple dinner in Dam Mess on the eve of 16th May. The contribution structure was worked out by Dr. which was agreed by all. A total of 20 heads turned up for the dinner and the drinks were arranged too.
Many topics of discussion were on the floor when someone kiddingly asks if the Ezay is rated for one cup (coz the rate of Ezay stipulated was Nu. 10/-). One topic of discussion was for celebrating Fathers Day so that all the fathers would gather and will trip to Trongsa 😜😜😜😜😜. I noticed Mr. Sonam Jamtsho googling the day for Father’s Day which came out on 16th June, but then all were wondering why he is so interested when he is not even married 😂😂😂.  Some argue that mothers always enjoy the gathering and so why not us. Then came the topic of Bachelorette party, where all laughed glancing to Tshering Lhendup and Sonam Jamtsho. It was when Gurung sir advice them to get married soon.

Many discussions were made and many debates were going on. A hot topic of Lecturers of CLCS who were made to compulsararily resign was discussed.

It was a nice evening and a satisfying dinner.

COVID-19 is a Blessing

PC; Google Ever since WHO declared COVID-19 as a pandemic, many countries have limited the entry and exit, many have closed the borders and at an individual level, everyone takes the initiative to keep ourselves clean.   Every nation advises its citizens to stay at home and some companies have started to implement a strategy “Work from Home”.   Social distancing for a meter is recommended by WHO to prevent the spread of the virus.  Many deaths are reported. It was learned that the corpse are buried without proper funeral rites and the family members are not allowed to meet the deceased. Once the virus is infected, the victims are isolated in a separate room where none are allowed to visit. It is so heartening to see the rate of spreading is so high. Scientists are unable to understand the behavior of the virus to discover the antidote. On the other hand, the earth is healing with the reduction of pollution. With Nidup sir and Rohit (AE) I had a Team....... When I started my career, As an Assistant Engineer and  It was back in July-2012. I was new to the environment and place, It was my first time in Trongsa, Everything seems green and pure but Lots many have joined to roar.
